People Power Party’s Gangneung constituency candidate Kwon Seong-dong and Cho Kuk, leader of the Fatherland Innovation Party, stood in the middle of the 22nd general election campaign, campaigning on ‘judgment of the regime’ and ‘judgment of the regime.’
Representative Kwon held a press conference at the National Assembly on the morning of the 7th, the day after Representative Cho visited Gangneung, and appealed for public support for the ruling party.
On this day, he read a press conference that included the mistakes of the Moon Jae-in administration and the Democratic Party, and the efforts and reflections of the government and ruling party to normalize the country. Candidate Kwon said, “I don’t think the government and ruling party did everything well over the past two years. “There were clearly shortcomings,” he said, adding, “As the first floor leader of the ruling party, I fully feel the great responsibility.” Candidate Kwon said, “The current opposition party is in the wrong direction. “You cannot accompany someone with a different destination,” he said, appealing for support from the People Power Party.
He strongly criticized opposition parties such as the Democratic Party of Korea and the Fatherland Innovation Party.
He argued, “We do not pursue common sense values that led the Republic of Korea to prosperity, such as liberal democracy, market economy, ROK-US alliance, and rule of law.”
He then claimed that the People Power Party was the alternative. He said, “The only alternative to confront extremism is the People Power Party,” and “The current opposition party, including the Democratic Party, is a coalition of extremists. It is the extreme of hypocrisy, the extreme of political strife, and the extreme of ideology. Please hold our People Power Party’s hand. “Once again, I earnestly ask the people,” he said.
Previously, Representative Cho visited Busan on the 5th, the first day of early voting, and voted at the same early voting station as President Yoon Seok-yeol, and on the 6th, he visited the constituency of Rep. Kwon, the eldest brother of the ‘pro-Yoon (pro-Yoon Seok-yeol) group’.
At a press conference in Gangneung, Representative Cho said, “I came to this place because there is a person who contributed to the creation and planning of the Yoon regime, and a person responsible for mismanagement and corruption is running for office.” He added, “Where in Gangneung can I buy a bunch of green onions for 875 won? . He raised his voice, saying, “The economy is being led by a president who is too ignorant of the current state of the world, so we must vote.”
This is a remark aimed at People Power Party lawmaker Kwon Seong-dong, who is an active member of the National Assembly in the Gangneung district and is running for a fifth term in this general election.
