News that Fly Dubai suspends flights from India to UAE is fake ‘: CIAL

Kochi International Airport Company Limited (CIAL) said in a statement that Fly Dubai has not suspended flights from India to the UAE. A screenshot of Fly Dubai claiming that all flights from India to the UAE have been suspended was circulated on social media. However, CIAL said that the airline had informed them that this was not an official announcement.

Services from certain airports are restricted. CIAL said flights to the UAE from Kochi Airport have not been disrupted so far. Today, two airlines operated services from Kochi. Emirates, Etihad, Fly Dubai, Air Arabia, IndiGo and Air India Express will operate flights to the UAE tomorrow.

The screen shot was prompted by Fly Dubai’s announcement that it had suspended flights from India to the UAE. In addition to India, Fly Dubai has also suspended flights from Pakistan, Nepal, Uganda and Sri Lanka.

Passenger flights from India, which were halted due to the Kovid expansion, were allowed to land in the UAE again yesterday. The service from Kochi Airport to the UAE has been resumed. Initially, the service was operated by Air Arabia and Emirates. KIAL officials have informed that the service will be resumed from Kannur from today.

Earlier, thousands of people lost their jobs or had to postpone essential trips due to the ban on travelers from India. At present, Indians are allowed to travel to the UAE with conditions. Holders of residence visas and those who have taken two doses of the vaccine are permitted.

Dubai travelers must register on the GDRFA portal. A 48-hour RTPCR Negative Certificate and a Rapid PCR Negative Certificate from the airport of departure must be produced. The expatriates, including the Malayalees, are hopeful that other travelers will soon be allowed to enter the country in case the resident visa holders are allowed to enter.
