(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Bae Jin-nam = French national striker Anthony Martial (27), whose chances to appear in Manchester United (England) have been reduced, is seeking a resurgence in Sevilla, a Spanish professional football team.
Sevilla announced on the 26th (Korean time) that they had agreed to a loan agreement for Martial from Manchester United until the end of the season.
Martial’s jersey number 22 was also revealed.
Sevilla is said to only pay Martial’s salaries without rent.
Martial, who is also playing as the A representative following France’s age group representative, started his professional career at Olympique Lyonne in the 2012-2013 season, then went to AS Monaco before wearing a Manchester United uniform in September 2015.

Since then, he has scored 79 goals in 269 official appearances for United.
In the 2019-2020 season, he had the best season with a total of 23 goals, including 17 in the English Premier League alone.
However, in the 2021-2022 season, he has been pushed out of the competition and has only appeared in eight matches (one goal) in the Premier League so far.
Martial then wanted a transfer this winter.
Juventus (Italy) and Barcelona (Spain) were also known to have shown interest in the signing of Martial, but in the end they chose Sevilla, which has more opportunities to play.
Sevilla expressed expectations by saying that they have strengthened their attack options by signing a contract with Martial who prefers not only the striker but also the flanks, especially the left.
Sevilla is second in the Spanish La Liga this season with 46 points (13 wins, 7 draws, 2 losses), behind Real Madrid (50 points, 15 wins, 5 draws and 2 losses).
