Mattia Binotto reports that he has submitted his resignation to Ferrari F1[F1-Gate.com]

The head of Ferrari F1, Mattia Binotto, has submitted his resignation to Ferrari, but chairman John Elkann has not yet accepted it, according to Formu1a.uno.

Behind the scenes at Ferrari, Formula 1 team principal Mattia Binotto and president John Elkann were said to be at odds over several issues after the summer break after the 2022 title hopes died down.

In mid-November, rumors spread that Ferrari would sack Mattia Binotto. However, in reality, Binotto appears to have communicated his resignation to the team.

Mattia Binotto himself wants to leave as he is unfit to lead the team in 2023. It does nothing for the mutual relationship, and Binotto has submitted his resignation, stating that he is officially leaving Ferrari, but John Elkann disagrees and has not received it.

Mattia Binotto’s departure was rumored to be announced last week, but the announcement has now been delayed with Ferrari and Mattia Binotto weighing up their options.

Ferrari is said to be considering Alpine F1 team boss Frédéric Vasseur as a successor, while Mattia Binotto is said to be in contact with teams such as Alpine and Alton Martin.
