Mauritania and the European Union are discussing ways to exploit the investment climate in the field of green hydrogen

Mauritania and the European Union discussed their trade relations, as well as the need to exploit the investment climate in green hydrogen in the country, according to the Mauritanian presidency.

These discussions took place during the reception by Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Sheikh Ghazouani, today, Thursday, of a delegation of European investors that includes a number of representatives of European companies in the field of hydrocarbons, development agencies in the European Union, foreign trade agencies, and a representative of the European Investment Bank.

According to the Mauritanian presidency, the meeting touched on trade relations between Mauritania and the European Union, and the need to exploit the encouraging investment climate in the field of green hydrogen.

The exploratory visit undertaken by this delegation (which includes 40 actors in the field of green hydrogen) to Mauritania aims to strengthen the ties between partners and the Mauritanian authorities, with the aim of strengthening the presence of European actors in the low-carbon hydrogen sector and accelerating the energy transition in Mauritania.
