PSG announced on their website on the 11th (Korean time) that they had signed a two-year contract with Messi with a one-year extension option.
“I want to start the next chapter of my football life in Paris as soon as possible,” Messi said. “I want to do great things for PSG and for the Paris fans. I want to play in the Parc des Princes, my home stadium, as soon as possible,” he said.
Messi’s contract with FC Barcelona, Spain, with whom he had been with him for 21 years since his youth, expired in June. A contract renewal was attempted, but was unsuccessful. During his 17 seasons with Barcelona, he scored 474 goals in the regular season and 672 in official matches.
