[디지털투데이 AI리포터] IT media The Verge reported on the 10th (local time) that Microsoft (MS) will launch a store dedicated to Xbox mobile games in July.

Xbox president Sarah Bond said at the Bloomberg Tech Summit: “We plan to run Microsoft’s first-party mobile games on the web and make them accessible to all devices and countries.”

Bond added: “We will also supply the core services business of Xbox,” adding: “We will create a gaming platform that moves users and libraries across multiple devices without depending on a single system.”

The store is expected to focus on releasing MS games, such as Call of Duty and Candy Crush Saga, and plans to open the store to other publishers in the future.

Previously, MS hinted at a next-generation game store after announcing the acquisition of Activision Blizzard. At the time, Phil Spencer, CEO of Microsoft’s gaming division, said: “We can’t do that on mobile right now, but we want to move towards a world where those devices are open.”
