After a military coup in February, bloodshed has continued in Myanmar.

This time, a military truck rushed into protesters in the middle of the city, killing five people.

State adviser Aung San Suu Kyi, who opposes the military, was sentenced to four years in prison on charges of sedition and other charges.

Reporter So-Jeong Lim will tell you.

“Give back the people’s power to the people!”

Protesters march with placards with the inscription ‘Freedom from Fear’.

After a while, they get scared and start running away.

Just hit people and pass by.

At least five people died at the scene.

The truck belongs to Myanmar’s security forces, and soldiers on the truck are said to have opened fire on unarmed protesters.

Myanmar’s military said 11 people were arrested at the scene.

The video of the vehicle rushing was shared through social media, igniting the will of citizens who were exhausted from the prolonged bloody rule of the military.

In Yangon, angry citizens protested the military dictatorship by knocking on iron objects all night long.

“(The military) has been in the process of wearing military uniforms or openly shooting and arresting people and being a little careful about these things… Since I came across this (vehicle rushing) video, it’s rather like yesterday in all Yangon. Like we did in May or April, we knocked on iron…”

Meanwhile, a Myanmar court sentenced state adviser Aung San Suu Kyi to four years in prison, charged by the military for sedition and violating COVID-19 quarantine measures.

Analysts say that if all 10 charges applied to shame torture are found guilty, a sentence of more than 100 years in prison is possible.

Human rights groups, including Amnesty International, have criticized the military’s behavior and court decisions and expressed concern over the suffocation of freedom in Myanmar.
