Missiles strike across Russia and Ukraine… At least 10 deaths, power outages, etc.

Russia launched missile strikes across Ukraine yesterday (23rd).

Attacks targeting several cities in Ukraine, including the capital Kyiv, have killed 10 people, shut down a nuclear power plant, and cut off water and electricity supplies.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a video speech that day, “Today we were hit by 70 missiles.”

President Zelensky said that Russian missiles were “targeting Ukraine’s energy infrastructure” and that “hospitals, schools, transport and residential areas were all damaged.”

Ukraine’s Energy Ministry said several nuclear power plants in southern Ukraine had been shut down, saying “the majority of the electricity supply has been cut off.”

The ‘Reuters’ news agency reported that more than two-thirds of the power was out in Cuiw’s capital, this morning (24th), and that many residents were suffering from water cuts.

Meanwhile, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, the US Ambassador to the United Nations, accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of “clearly using the winter as a tool to cause great suffering to the Ukrainian people.”
