MLA says mother converted Karnataka Home Minister to introduce anti-conversion law

Bangalore: The Karnataka Home Minister has said that a law prohibiting conversion will be introduced in the state. Karnataka Home Minister Araga Gyanendra said the government was studying the matter and would take steps to legislate soon.

MLA Sekhar had alleged that Christian missionaries were carrying out widespread conversions in the Hosadurga constituency. About 20,000 Hindus were converted. This includes his mother. She advised her mother not to wear saffron. Even her mother’s mobile ringtone is now a Christian devotional song. No poojas can be performed at home now. His mother replied that he would commit suicide if he said anything.
