‘Mother’s help to mix poison, uncle to destroy evidence’: Both arrested – Sharon Raj Murder

Thiruvananthapuram ∙ The police have arrested the mother and uncle of Greeshma, the main accused, in the case of murdering a friend’s graduate student by adding herbicide to the drink. Greeshma Sindhu’s mother and mother’s brother Nirmal Kumar were arrested. The two were charged in the case yesterday after it was discovered that they were involved in murder and destruction of evidence. The arrest was made today.

It is noted that both of them will be taken as evidence today. Both told the crime branch team that Greeshma had left the bottle of the drink with which she had poisoned Sharon in a nearby place. Gathering evidence is finding this out. According to the police, Sindhu’s mother helped Greeshma mix herbicide in the drink Sharon was given to drink.

Greeshma’s first statement was that no one, including her mother, knew about the poisoning. After the incident, the investigation team found that his uncle Nirmal Kumar also helped destroy the evidence. It became clear that they were involved in the crime in the detailed questioning that was carried out bearing in mind the contradictions in the statements of both of them.

As Greeshma called them, the two went out just before Sharon got home. With this, the first conclusion was that Greeshma called Sharon home when no one was home. However, it turned out that the two who went out did not go far from the location of the mobile phone. With this, the police confirmed the planned nature of the murder.
