Metanet is developing a multiplayer sequel to its 2D platforming series. The upcoming title, N Plus Infinity Times Two, marks the studio’s return to the franchise more than a decade after the release of N++.

Metanet, a two-person studio, released N++ in 2015. The title was a 2D platformer that spent ten years in development, building on the foundation of the original freeware Flash game, N.

At the time of the 2015 launch, Metanet cofounder Raigan Burns commented on the lengthy development cycle of the project.

The new project, N Plus Infinity Times Two, represents a shift in the series’ design goals. While N++ was intended to be the ultimate single-player version of the N concept, the new sequel focuses on multiplayer functionality.
