Thiruvananthapuram – Police issued an alert regarding online financial fraud. The police warning comes at a time when complaints are being raised about people creating fake accounts using photos on social media and sending messages to people on the friends list asking for money.
Money is requested by sending a number and sending money online, buying and sending gift coupons. Thiruvananthapuram City Cyber Crime Police Station ACP T. Shyamlal says the solution to this is to keep social media accounts ‘private’.
