Christian Miguel Bilp Torrens, aged 26, was sentenced to life in prison for starving his daughter to death. He and his 24-year-old wife are overweight. Being fond of fast food, they did not take proper care of their one-year-old daughter’s health.
His one-year-old daughter Georgia weighed 3.85 kg at the time of death. This was less than Georgia’s birth weight. The case was filed against the parents who had noticed their daughter’s weight loss for months but ignored it and left their daughter to starve to death. Georgia will die in June 2021. Georgia died within minutes of arriving at the hospital.
After noticing the child’s severe malnutrition, the hospital authorities informed the police. Georgia’s parents, who weighed more than 100 kg, did not try to feed or treat the child in time. Georgia’s father was found guilty during the trial of the case. After this he was sentenced to life imprisonment. He was sentenced on Wednesday.
