The average price of electric scooters ranges from Rs 54,000 to Rs 1.2 lakh. The government has been subsidizing electric scooters since last June. The subsidy ranges from 25 to 47 per cent.

Six of George’s company, which also does online delivery, use electric scooters to deliver goods. Vineet Chandran, an online delivery man, says that with the introduction of electric scooters for online delivery, the cost has come down.
