The 20th edition of the International Comedy Festival “Mostarska liska” opened tonight in the National Theater Mostar (NPM) with the premiere performance of the play “Dogs (hopate)”, based on the motifs of Eva Kamčevska’s text “Stand upright and walk gracefully”, directed by Zoran Rakočevićand created in the production of NPM.

“It is an interesting piece that we did in an unusual, aestheticized manner, when we talk about the style and genre of the play and the visual identity on the one hand, on the other hand it is a text that carries a strong idea about the loss of human solidarity. The alienation of people from each other why we blame the global system, neoliberal consumer capitalism, the rhythm imposed on us by the race for money and power, which is hidden, and destroyed what is most valuable to us, which is a strong middle class (…)”, its director Zoran Rakočević pointed out in his review of the play.

In his words, it could be said that it is “a farce about a man who wants to sober up from the dictates of the consumerist ideology and the overall nonsense that has crept into our logic of understanding reality.”

“The main character of Goca, played by the NPM drama champion Saša Oručević, goes through an absurdist metamorphosis in which the system, that is, the system of thought, sees a state coup”explained Rakočević.

The dramaturgy is written by Emina Kovačević, the scenography and costume design by Armin Ćosić, and the musical arrangement by Atilla Aksoj.

The actors in the play are: Saša Oručević, Amela Kreso, Ajla Hamzić, Jasmin Krpo, Goran Lozo, Vedran Vilogorac, Emir Spahić, Emir Sejfić, Ali Kamer Aksoj kg and Lejla Pajić kg.

By the way, at this year’s edition of the Mostar Liska, the audience will have the opportunity to watch seven performances of the comedy genre from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Serbia.
