Candidate Jae-myung Lee visited a public hospital in Seoul after testing negative for COVID-19.

In response to the urgent need to expand medical personnel and improve treatment, the new government promised support, saying that it would be different.

Candidate Lee reiterated his position that the strengthening of quarantine guidelines cannot be delayed, saying, “The biggest problem is the increase in the number of severe cases.”

In addition, he emphasized the need for a supplementary budget, saying that it is necessary to provide first aid to small business owners and others who will be affected by strengthening quarantine measures and to compensate them later.

“There is an active argument from the opposition and my position is that we need to increase support, so I expect the government to respond positively by forming an additional budget.”

In an emergency consultation with the government, the Democratic Party also agreed to amend the loss compensation law enforcement ordinance to compensate for losses caused by the ‘restriction of the number of people’, and discussed financial measures worth 100 trillion won, including the Infectious Disease Response Fund.

However, it is known that the government expressed displeasure over the issue of supplementary budget formation.

As Candidate Lee took the lead in the policy movement, conflicts within the party began to arise, and another public criticism came out of the policy of ‘in the middle of and deferring the transfer tax for multi-residents’.

“It’s very undesirable to do something that shakes up sensitive and important policies, because it’s giving the market a lot of turmoil and turbulence.”

Earlier, it is known that Lee Cheol-hee, senior presidential secretary for political affairs at the Blue House, also reconfirmed the government’s opposition to the transfer tax in a meeting with the ruling party leadership.

Candidate Lee said, “I’ll tell you later,” and avoided an immediate answer about this move, but the Democratic Party plans to hold a general assembly in the early to mid-week next week and start discussing it.
