Rapper B.Free expressed his frustration after his bank account was seized due to a fine of 50,000 won ($43) that he had failed to pay. In an Instagram post on the 5th, B.Free shared a photo along with a message questioning the lack of explanation or response regarding the account seizure.

The photo included a text message from the bank’s seizure team, notifying B.Free that his deposits had been confiscated and transactions restricted upon the request of the enforcement division of the North Seoul District Prosecutors Office.

In response to a netizen’s comment suggesting that the confiscation was due to his failure to pay the fine, B.Free clarified that the authorities were seizing his account because of his non-payment over several months. He voiced his dissatisfaction with the situation, stating that such actions hindered individuals from taking any necessary steps to resolve the matter.

However, netizens did not sympathize with B.Free’s anger. They criticized him, questioning why he couldn’t afford to pay a mere 50,000 won fine, and compared his situation to others who have faced similar consequences for non-payment. Some even questioned whether it was fair to blame the country for his predicament.

As the criticism intensified, B.Free responded by sarcastically suggesting that next time the authorities should arrest him with handcuffs and a club for owing 50,000 won. He also tagged the prosecution’s Instagram account in his post, emphasizing his dissatisfaction with the situation.

Having debuted in 2009 with his album ‘Music of Freedom’ and winning the Best Rap and Hip Hop Song Award at the 12th Korean Popular Music Awards, B.Free previously sparked controversy in 2013 by publicly criticizing idol rappers, including the group BTS. However, he later issued an apology on his social media accounts in 2019, expressing remorse for any emotional pain he may have caused to BTS and their fans.
