Red Bull F1 Representative “Adrian Newey Accident Report Exaggerated”[F1-Gate .com]

Red Bull F1 team principal Christian Horner believes the importance of the Adrian Newey accident is exaggerated.

Adrian Newey had a bicycle accident while on vacation in Croatia and was unable to work for several weeks. Helmut Marko, Red Bull F1 Motorsports Advisor, noted that Newey had to undergo “some operations.”

He also suggested that the absence of Adrian Newey contributed to the failure to optimize the RB16B’s setup in certain races.

“It was a really serious accident. Adrian suffered several fractures and head injuries,” said Helmut Marko, who former F1 supreme authority Bernie Ecclestone gave Adrian Newey’s immediate medical care in Croatia and to the United Kingdom. He added that he intervened to facilitate transportation.

However, Red Bull F1 team principal Christian Horner suggested that these reports were a bit exaggerated.

“This is sometimes exaggerated,” Christian Horner told formel1.de.

“It’s true that he had an accident while on vacation. Fortunately, he’s completely healthy again. It’s been a few weeks. He’s already on the scene in Istanbul and he’s in good shape.”

Max Verstappen won the F1 US Grand Prix over Lewis Hamilton, expanding the championship lead to 12 points.

Adrian Newey also attended the post-race celebration, but he didn’t take off his hat at any stage of the weekend, perhaps to hide his head injury.
