Reintroducing Endangered Ostrich Species in Riyadh: Successful Hatching of Three Chicks at Imam Turki bin Abdullah Royal Nature Reserve

Riyadh : Imam Turki bin Abdullah Royal Nature Reserve and Development Authority said that three red-necked ostrich chicks have hatched This is an endangered species.

This species of bird, which faced extinction in the northern region of the country for a century, was brought back with the efforts of the ITB authority. In 2021, the authority started a project to rehabilitate ostriches by creating a natural habitat for a pair of birds in this category.

Twelve eggs were produced. The aim of the authority is to reintroduce rare species to their natural habitats with the aim of developing wildlife, conserving biodiversity and restoring the environment.
