Roaring into Another Year: Jinan Zoo Throws a Wild Birthday Bash for Simba the Lion
Jinan Zoo Celebrates Simba the Lion’s Birthday in Style
The star animal of Jinan Zoo, African lion Simba, has another birthday to remember. The staff planned and arranged a unique celebration two weeks in advance, complete with colorful balloons, bright flags, and birthday party posters that created a lively atmosphere.
The event kicked off with a fascinating science explanation by a conservationist, who introduced the lion’s living habits, living conditions, and protection significance to the children of the Chenxing Charity Team. The audience gained a deeper understanding of the king of the grassland through vivid explanations and interactive questions and answers.
Simba, who has lived in Jinan Zoo for 16 years, was treated to a special “meat cake” made of fresh mutton, chicken rack, and fruits. The staff guided the students in preparing the cake, which not only delighted Simba but also provided a diverse and nutritious meal.
The highlight of the celebration was the unique hanging of sheepskin and cow bones, which added a new element to Simba’s living environment. The staff aimed to stimulate Simba’s curiosity and provide a taste of wild life in a relatively closed environment. Simba was thrilled, playing and chewing on the cow bones with gusto.
The event also featured a lion painting competition, where children showcased their creativity and innocence through colorful paintings. The lion imitation show was another highlight, with children vividly imitating Simba’s movements and calls, leaving the audience in stitches.
This unique birthday celebration not only enriched Simba’s living environment but also conveyed the importance of caring for animals and respecting life to citizens and tourists. The event encouraged children to contribute to protecting wild animals and maintaining ecological balance.
