Ronaldinho is coming to Kolkata for Durga Puja

In October, the joy of Calcutta residents is doubled. Ronaldinho is getting a chance to see Durga Puja up close. The Brazilian legend himself confirmed his arrival in India with a post on social media today.

Ronaldinho will come to Kolkata for the first time. The 2002 World Cup winning star for Brazil wrote, ‘Hello, I will be making my first visit to Kolkata in mid-October. Will be taking part in many charity activities including going to my ‘R10′ football academy at Merlin Rise. As a cultural part of Durga Puja, I will participate in the pujas of Sri Bhumi Sporting, Ahirtola Yuvasa Brind, Baruipur, Green Park and Rishara.’

Ronaldinho said that he is looking forward to coming to Kolkata. The former Barcelona striker wrote, ‘Besides, I will participate in a charity football match at Diamond Harbor FC. I know there are huge Brazilian fans in Kolkata. Looking forward to meeting them. I will meet the Chief Minister of West Bengal and hand over the jersey to him. I also know that cricket is very popular in Bengal. I want to learn cricket from my grandfather (Sourav Ganguly).’

If luck helps, fans of Bangladesh can also get a chance to see Ronaldinho. For example, Argentina’s World Cup-winning goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez visited Bangladesh last July. The 43-year-old star is scheduled to stay in Kolkata for three days.
