Russia: Ukraine calls for tougher sanctions Ukraine War

Kyiv പ്രസിഡന്റ് President Volodymyr Selensky has called on European nations to tighten sanctions against Russia, which has been invading Ukraine and sowing misery. He called on European countries to stop importing all energy products from Russia and to provide more weapons and financial assistance to Ukraine for defense.

Despite the European Union halting coal imports from Russia, oil and natural gas imports continue. Ukraine has completely banned imports from Russia. Ukraine has also accused Russia of brutally killing civilians in retreating areas. The graves of two slain locals were found in the village of Busova, near Kiev. Selensky telephoned German Chancellor Olaf Scholes to help find Russia’s war crimes.

The US company Maxer has released a satellite image of a Russian military convoy moving towards the Donbass in southern Ukraine. The influx of refugees from the city of Kramatorsk in the Donetsk region continues. The UN estimates that 4.5 million people have fled Ukraine since February 24, when Russia began its occupation. Various countries, including Canada and the European Union, have pledged 910 billion euros to Ukraine to help refugees.

Ukraine claims to have shot down a Russian drone using a British – made Manpud missile. Russia’s Defense Ministry says missile strikes on Ukraine’s Shuhyu and Strobogdanovoka air bases have caused extensive damage. Heavy attacks continue in Luhansk and Dnipropetrovsk regions. Two were killed in Derhachi in the Harkiv region. Several people were injured.

Pope Francis has called on all leaders to be prepared to make sacrifices to restore peace in Ukraine through talks ahead of Easter. It is meaningless to place the victory flag on top of the mound. We are crucifying Jesus again through the cruelty of war. He said it was time to lay down our arms and work for peace.
