Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, currently on a visit to Sweden, did not remain silent in the face of such heinous acts. Expressing his deep anger on social media, he lamented that what should have been an ordinary Saturday turned into a day of immeasurable pain and sorrow.
Mayor Oleksandro Romaco of Chernihiu strongly condemned the devastating attack, referring to it as nothing short of a war crime against innocent civilians. However, despite the overwhelming evidence of civilian casualties, the Russian military adamantly denies any responsibility for these reprehensible acts. They refuse to waver from their claim that these were precise strikes on military installations and other purported targets.

According to reports such as CNN, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine announced on the 19th (local time) that a Russian missile fell in the city of Chernihiv in northern Ukraine, behind the front line, killing seven people and injuring around 130 others .
Initially, 5 people died and 37 people were injured, but over time, the number of people injured increased significantly.
The missiles landed on theaters, churches, and university buildings where events were being held near Chernihiu city square.
Most of the casualties were churchgoers who visited the church over the weekend, and it is known that more than 10 children were among those injured.
