[디지털투데이 AI리포터] Samsung Electronics adds a function to monitor users’ medications to its health management application (app) “Samsung Health”. The feature is coming to the US for the first time via an update later this week.

According to IT media Engadget, on the 20th (local time), Samsung Electronics announced that it will add a feature that will let users know when to take medications through Samsung Health and receive alerts when a doctor’s prescription is needed.

This feature allows users to enter new medications into the app by recording their shape and color, prescribed dosage information, and scheduled administration time. The app provides comprehensive information, including how to take the drug and potential side effects, based on information recorded by the user.

Samsung Electronics said the drug information is “based on content licensed from Elsevier, a publisher specializing in medical content.”

Meanwhile, to use Samsung Health, which has new features, you need a smartphone with Android 8.0 or later, and the Samsung Health app version must be 6.26 or later.
