[디지털투데이 AI리포터] Samsung Electronics is introducing a new feature that allows you to save your mobile ID card in its “Samsung Wallet” application (app).

According to the media IT Phone Arena, on the 27th (local time), Samsung announced in October that it will launch a function to store mobile driver’s licenses and state ID cards for Samsung Wallet users in Arizona and Iowa, and recently in Arizona. released. The Arizona Department of Transportation announced, “Residents using Samsung Wallet will be able to save a mobile version of the physical card on their smartphones and use it at Transportation Security Administration checkpoints at some airports.”

This feature reduces the risk of loss or damage because the user does not need to carry the physical card with them. Additionally, mobile IDs are encrypted and protected with fingerprint or PIN authentication, so only authorized users can access them. Convenience and safety have been further improved.

To add this mobile ID to Samsung Wallet, open the app, go to the Quick Access tab, and click the “+” button. Next, select Digital ID and select the “Driver’s License/State ID” option. At this point, the user must authenticate their identity by scanning the front, back and front of the ID card.

“We envision a future where mobile IDs can be used to verify age, enter age-restricted establishments, and even rent a car,” Samsung said. “We will start with Arizona, but gradually add more states and more features.”
