WANTAGH, N.Y. – A ⁤20-year-old‍ woman sustained minor injuries Wednesday after a suspected shark bite at Jones Beach ‌State Park, Long Island, according‍ to state officials. The ⁢incident has raised concerns about beach safety and the role of marine life in the area.

The woman, whose name⁤ was not released, was standing ⁢in waist-deep water when she was bitten on her left leg and foot. She received treatment for the injuries, which were not life-threatening, state parks officials said.
