Sharp Unveils Aquos R9 with Latest Mid-Range Specs, Set for July Release

Japanese electronics company Sharp has announced the ‘Aquos R9’ with the latest mid-range specs.

The Aquos R9 is the successor to the R8 and, unlike its predecessor, is characterized by being equipped with the third-generation Snapdragon 7+ mid-range chipset instead of the flagship chipset. The front features a 6.5-inch Pro Exo OLED display that supports a 240Hz refresh rate and a maximum brightness of 1500 nits.

It features a dual camera setup consisting of a 50MP camera on the front and a 50MP main camera + 50MP ultra-wide camera on the back, and comes with 12GB of RAM and a 5000mAh battery on the back. internal.

It runs Android 14 OS and features stereo speakers that support Dolby Atmos, IP68-rated dust and water resistance, and MIL-STD-810H certification, which is the military standard of the US Department of Defense .

‘Aquos R9’ is scheduled to release in July in Japan, but the price has not yet been revealed.

Meanwhile, Sharp also unveiled the entry-level model “Aquos Wish4” with specifications such as a 6.6-inch IPS LCD display, Dimensity 700 5G chipset, 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. The release of this smartphone is also expected in Japan in July.
