French football star Raphael Varane has announced his retirement from the sport at the age of 31, citing constant injuries as the reason for his decision. Varane is currently a player for Italian club Como.
Varane’s illustrious career includes being a key player in France’s 2018 World Cup-winning team, as well as being part of the team that reached the final of the 2022 World Cup. He has played 93 games for the French national team since his debut in 2013.
Varane began his senior career at French club Lens before moving to Real Madrid, where he spent ten years and won numerous titles, including four Champions League titles, four Club World Cups, and three La Liga titles. He later joined Manchester United before moving to Como.
