Very rarely will the thief who went in to steal call the police. But the thief in the news from Dhaka, Bangladesh is one such. When the local people found out about the thief’s entry, the thief was caught so that he could not go out. The thief himself told the police when he was certain that the trees would be damaged if it fell into the hands of the locals. Yasin Khan, aged 40, is the ‘feared’ thief.

Things got out of hand when he tried to steal from a closed grocery store. He realizes that it is time to go out after the robbery and that it is dawn and the locals are around the shop. After realizing that the local people had gathered knowing about the thief’s entry, he decided to catch the thief. He called the police emergency number and reported the matter as soon as he realized that the matter would be over if he was caught in the hands of the mob. He asked the police on the phone that he was a thief, that he was surrounded by the locals when he went to steal, and that he would be beaten to death if he was caught in their hands. Finally, the police came and saved him from the locals. He has admitted to the previous robberies and is now under arrest.
