Strengthening Bilateral Relations: Vietnam and Japan’s Comprehensive Strategic Partnership
The two leaders, General Secretary and President To Lam and Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio, expressed satisfaction with the rapid development of bilateral relations, particularly the establishment of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for peace in Asia and the world on the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations.
To further enhance political trust and mutual understanding, the two sides agreed to maintain high-level exchanges in various flexible forms and promote bilateral dialogue and cooperation mechanisms.
Economic Cooperation: A Key Pillar of Bilateral Relations
The two sides emphasized the importance of economic cooperation as the main pillar of bilateral relations, deepening the connection between the two economies. Japan will continue to contribute to Vietnam’s development through ODA aid, strengthening cooperation in digital transformation, green transformation, and training high-quality human resources.
Investment and Business Opportunities
General Secretary and President To Lam highlighted Vietnam’s commitment to improving the investment environment, enhancing the quality of infrastructure, and welcoming foreign enterprises, including Japanese enterprises, to invest and do business in Vietnam.
Defense and Security Cooperation
The two sides agreed to promote defense and security cooperation in a substantive manner, effectively implementing signed cooperation agreements, and deepening human resource connectivity, people-to-people exchange, and cooperation between localities.
Support for the Vietnamese Community in Japan
General Secretary and President To Lam requested the Japanese Government to continue supporting the Vietnamese community living, studying, and working in Japan, with policies to encourage and create favorable conditions for their well-being.
Regional and International Cooperation
The two sides discussed international and regional issues of mutual concern, agreeing to strengthen cooperation to consolidate a peaceful, secure, and stable environment in the region, including the East Sea issue.
