It did not perform well
Former India fast bowler Venkatesh Prasad tweeted that the Indian team did not perform well in the World Cup and that is why they were eliminated from the semis. “Nine years later, after six consecutive semi-final entries, India have not been able to reach the semi-finals of an ICC tournament. India did not perform at their best. Prasad tweeted.
So after 9 years and 6 succesive semi-final qualifications, India fail to qualify for the semi-finals of a ICC event. Haven’t played to potential and it will hurt the team a lot. Time to get the act right for next year’s world cup in Australia.

India, one of the most likely teams to win the tournament, suffered a setback in the first two matches. In the first match, India lost to arch-rivals Pakistan by 10 wickets and in the second match, they lost to New Zealand by five wickets. He made a comeback with a huge win in the next two matches, but by then he had to rely on the results of other teams as well. With this, the match between Afghanistan and New Zealand became crucial in India’s semi-final qualification. India’s hopes were dashed when New Zealand won.
