Tesla Science Center Begins $3 Million Fundraising Program to Recover from Fire

The Tesla Science Center in Wardenclyffe (TSCW), the last laboratory of renowned inventor Nikola Tesla, sustained severe fire damage on November 21st. The center, located on 16.5 acres in Long Island, New York, is currently undergoing detailed assessment by engineers and local officials to ascertain the extent of damage and determine compensation related to the fire.

Following the incident, TSCW has launched a $3 million international fundraising campaign on Indiegogo called the Mission Rebuilding Fund to cover fire recovery costs.

The fire, which took place on the afternoon of November 21st, required the response of 17 local fire departments and over 100 rescue personnel. Although no additional difficulties are expected as a result of the fire, the center has expressed immense gratitude to the local firefighting units for their exceptional bravery and action.

Marc Alessi, Executive Director of TSCW, confirmed that while the structure of the building has been largely able to withstand the effects of the fire, the center is prepared to launch a major restoration and rehabilitation project once the damage assessment is complete.
