La Palma del Condado Mourns Victim of Adamuz Train Accident
The municipal council of La Palma del Condado, Huelva, Spain, declared three days of official mourning following the death of Patricia García Sauci, a 42-year-old resident, on Friday, January 26, 2024. García Sauci became the 46th fatality of the december 13, 2022, train accident in Adamuz, Córdoba. Twenty-nine of the victims were from the province of Huelva.
according to a statement released via the council’s social media channels, the grief over García Sauci’s death compounds the sorrow felt by many due to “this terrible event,” which has left the town and the nation “deeply shaken.”
García Sauci had been hospitalized in intensive care since the accident. She was traveling on the Alvia train after completing an exam for a civil service competition. 20 Minutos reported her death.
The Adamuz train accident occurred when a Renfe Alvia train derailed while traveling between Madrid and Málaga. The official investigation is ongoing.
