The 10th Kudu Keli Football Tournament Kicks Off with a Bang

Riyadh – The 10th football tournament hosted by the Keli Arts and Culture Center kicked off in a spectacular manner. The tournament, inaugurated by Khaled Al Halar, Secretary General of the Amateur Football League under the Saudi Ministry of Sports, commenced at the Sulay Al Muttawa Park field in Riyadh.

The opening ceremony was filled with excitement as children, teams, and volunteers paraded through the venue. Acting Secretary of the Central Patron, Geevarghese, took the salute, while Shamir Kunnummal, chairman of the organizing committee, presided over the event. Convenor Naseer Mullurkara received a warm welcome.

Distinguished guests included Acting Secretary Geevarghese Idichidi, Secretary Keli Suresh Kannapuram, President Sebin Iqbal, Secretary Kudumbavedi Seeba Koovod, OICC Secretary Abdullah Vallanchira, New Age India Secretary Vinod, Referee Ali Alkhahtani, Kudu representatives Imad Salim Muhammad Regional Director, Regional Manager Rohan Tellies, Area Manager Pavithran, and Western Union represented by Rodel Dal Mundo Diaspora Manager. Event Organizer Liaqat Ali, Segment Friendly Manager Luqman Syed, TVS Group MD Salam, Pipes Representative Koblan Prasad Vanchipura, Latif Coolimad United Trading, Basheer Bashi Alsaroukh Electrical Trading, Farhan Archidecal Espero Associate, Nasser Moochikal IB Tech, also addressed the audience. Kahim Chellari, the Treasurer of the Organizing Committee, expressed gratitude for the event.

To kick off the tournament, Future Mobility Youth India FC and Roma Kas-le Blasters FC Vazhakad faced off in a Group A match. Roma Kas Le Blasters FC Vazhakad took an early lead in the first half, with player number 20 Safaruddin scoring two goals in the ninth and eighteenth minutes. However, Fazil Youth India FC, represented by number 10, managed to pull a goal back just before halftime. Although India Youth was awarded a penalty kick in the first half, they failed to capitalize on the opportunity. Blasters FC Vazhakad emerged victorious with a score of 2-1, becoming the first group champions with three points.

The match was officiated by Ali Al Qahtani from the Saudi Refereeing Panel. Despite being a disciplined game, both teams received red cards. Technical convener Sharafuddin Pannikode and Safamaka’s medical team handled the technical and medical aspects of the match, respectively.

Moving forward, the second week of the tournament will feature two matches from each group. In the first match, Sulai FC will go head-to-head with Rainbow FC from Group A, while Issa Group Azizia Soccer from Group B will face Benchmark Technology Royal Focus Line FC in the second match.
