Tragic Accident Claims Lives of Newlywed Couple in Tamil Nadu
Chennai / Thodupuzha – A devastating accident on the Coimbatore-Chidambaram highway near Tiruchirappalli has resulted in the tragic loss of a newly married Malayali couple. Srinath (36) and his wife S. Arathi (25) lost their lives when their car plunged into a river in the early hours of yesterday morning, just a mere month and a half after their wedding.
The car, en route to Chennai, veered out of control, breaking through the handrails of the Vavidam bridge and plummeting around 50 feet into the river, leaving the vehicle completely destroyed. The news has left family members and local residents in shock, as the couple’s lives were cut short so soon after their marriage.
Srinath and Arathi had tied the knot on October 18 in Kuropada, and were beginning to build their lives together. Srinath, employed at L&T Company in Chennai, and Arathi, preparing to move abroad, had been on their way to their workplace in Chennai when tragedy struck.
Arathi is the daughter of Santosh Kumar and Suja, while Srinath is the son of Sasidharan Nair and Omana Sasidharan. Following post-mortem procedures, the bodies were eventually handed over to their grieving relatives.

The accident took place on the Coimbatore-Chidambaram highway near Tiruchirappalli at 3am yesterday. The car, which was going to Chennai, went out of control and broke the hand rails of the Vavidam bridge and fell down about 50 feet. The car fell into the river and was completely destroyed.
Srinath and Aarti got married on October 18 in Kuropada. Srinath was an employee of L&T Company in Chennai. Aarti was preparing to go abroad. On Thursday night, Srinath and his wife Kouropada left for their workplace in Chennai by car.
Aarti is the daughter of Santosh Kumar and Suja. Srinath is the son of Sasidharan Nair and Omana Sasidharan. The bodies were handed over to the relatives after post-mortem.
