According to WhatsApp, if a message appears in a language you don’t understand, a prompt will appear suggesting translation. Users will need to select the desired language for translation and download the language pack for future use. The feature works in one-on-one chats, group chats, and channels.

Android users have an additional option: they can activate automatic translation for entire chats. This will translate all incoming messages in that conversation automatically, streamlining communication with contacts who speak different languages.

“If you see a message in other languages, now you are quite pressing for a long time and tapping ‘translate’,” WhatsApp stated. “We launched a message translation for Android and iPhone users in stages starting today, in several languages ​​of choice to start and then will follow.”
