Translate WhatsApp Chat Without Google: New Method
WhatsApp Rolls Out Message Translation Feature for Android and iPhone
WhatsApp has begun a phased rollout of a message translation feature for both Android and iPhone users. This allows users to translate messages directly within the app, breaking down language barriers in conversations.
According to WhatsApp, if a message appears in a language you don’t understand, a prompt will appear suggesting translation. Users will need to select the desired language for translation and download the language pack for future use. The feature works in one-on-one chats, group chats, and channels.
Android users have an additional option: they can activate automatic translation for entire chats. This will translate all incoming messages in that conversation automatically, streamlining communication with contacts who speak different languages.
“If you see a message in other languages, now you are quite pressing for a long time and tapping ‘translate’,” WhatsApp stated. “We launched a message translation for Android and iPhone users in stages starting today, in several languages of choice to start and then will follow.”
How to Use WhatsApp’s Translation Feature
The process is straightforward:
- Receive a message in an unfamiliar language.
- Long-press on the message.
- Tap the “Translate” option.
- Select the language you want to translate to.
- Download the language pack if prompted.
For Android users wanting automatic translation, the setting will be found within the chat settings.
Impact and Future Progress
This feature significantly enhances WhatsApp’s usability for its global user base. By removing language barriers, WhatsApp aims to foster more inclusive and accessible communication. The initial rollout focuses on a select number of languages, with plans to expand the offering over time.
