Arrival adn Initial Reception
The first full day of the US PresidentS state visit to the United Kingdom commenced this morning. The President and First Lady Melania arrived at Stansted Airport on the evening of September 16, 2025, and afterward travelled via Marine One helicopter to central London, where they spent the night at the US Ambassador’s residence in regents Park.
Upon arrival, the President expressed his affection for the United Kingdom, describing it as a “great honour” to be hosted by the King, whom he referred to as a “friend.”
Royal Engagements at Windsor Castle
Today’s schedule centers around a series of Royal engagements at Windsor Castle. The visit will feature a carriage ride with the Royal Family, a formal guard of honour, and a state banquet, all taking place within the castle grounds.
Demonstrations and Political Meetings
A “Stop Trump” demonstration, organized by opponents of the visit, is scheduled to take place in central London this afternoon. Tomorrow, the President will travel to chequers, the Prime Minister’s country residence, for a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
Discussions between the two leaders are expected to cover a range of issues, including trade relations between the United States and the United Kingdom.
