Former Yongsan Police Chief Lee Im-jae, who was responsible for the location of the ‘10.29 Disaster’.

However, it was confirmed that former boss Lee arrived at the scene just 50 minutes after the accident.

When I looked at why he came so late, it became clear that he had arrived 600 meters before the accident 18 minutes before the disaster, and had traveled that way for an hour when the road was blocked.

Meanwhile, patients with cardiac arrest continued to occur at the scene.

Reporter Shin Jae-woong reports.

In the evening on the day of the disaster, Lee Im-jae, the former head of Yongsan, had a meal at a nearby Seolleongtang restaurant after controlling the gathering situation near the president’s office.

It is said that he stayed in the restaurant for 23 minutes and did not drink alcohol.

” (Yongsan Police Station said they were coming, do you know? Last Saturday night.) Last week? I don’t know.”

After eating, the former chief, who left for Itaewon in an official vehicle, arrived at Noksapyeong Station, which is 2.1 km away, in 10 minutes.

It was before the disaster, and it was about 600 meters in a straight line from Noksapyeong Station to Itaewon alley, and it was a 10-minute walk, but this former boss did not get out of the car.

When the road was blocked, I tried to enter via a detour, such as Gyeongnidan-gil, Hyatt Hotel, and Bogwang-dong.

Meanwhile, at the disaster site, patients with cardiac arrest were increasing one after the other.

Eventually, about an hour after leaving Noksapyeong Station, we arrived at Antique Furniture Street, about 200 meters away from the disaster site.

The former Chief Lee came from here and started walking, arriving at the Itaewon police box 150 meters away at 11:05pm.

It was 50 minutes after the first report of the disaster at 10:15pm.

The National Police Agency’s special investigation team explained that the former chief’s actions were “acquired based on his own evidence, witnesses, and CCTV.”

However, this was different from the Yongsan Station situation report which said ‘Former Chief Lee arrived at the location at around 10:20 pm and took command’, so the Special Investigation Headquarters also launched an investigation.

The special edition also checks the instructions given by former chief Lee during an hour in the official vehicle.

Meanwhile, the fire department announced late that there had been one more related 119 report before 10:15 pm, the first reporting time of the disaster, but the specific details and time were not disclosed as they investigated.

“Only one case was reported at the scene of the accident, and when we judged ourselves, it was difficult to recognize that it was related to this case…”

The special issue will investigate whether there were any problems with the way the report was handled by the fire department.
