A hot air balloon accident in central Turkey on Sunday resulted in the death of the pilot and injuries to 19 Indonesian tourists. The incident occurred near gozlukuyu village in Aksaray province.
A sudden shift in wind conditions caused the balloon to attempt a hard landing, according to the governor’s office. Aksaray Gov. Mehmet Ali Kumbuzoglu said the pilot was thrown from the basket during the landing attempt,becoming entangled in a rope.
