Ukraine Launches Longest Drone Attack on Russian Oil Refinery in Bashkortostan

[ロンドン 9日 ロイター] – According to Ukrainian intelligence sources, Ukraine used a drone to attack an oil refinery in Russia’s central republic of Bashkortostan. It is said to have flown around 1,500 kilometres, making it the longest drone attack carried out since the start of hostilities with Russia.

The source said, “This shows that oil refineries and oil storage facilities that supply Russian military facilities cannot be located safely even if they are located far away (from the front line).”

Ukraine has increased its drone attacks on oil refineries in Russian territory this year.

Russian authorities said the drone attack damaged a building at an oil refining, petrochemical and fertilizer production complex operated by the government-backed company Gazprom in the republic, Russian news agency RIA reported.

The head of the Republic said the complex was operating normally after the attack.

Ukrainian sources said the country also used drones to attack two oil storage facilities in Russia’s southern Krasnodar region, causing large-scale fires during the night. See more

Both attacks were carried out by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).

Russian authorities said a drone attack in Ukraine caused a fire and damaged several oil tanks at an oil refinery in the region. About six planes were destroyed, but falling debris caused a fire, the company posted on the Telegram communication app.
