According to the Jeju Fire and Safety Headquarters, on the 26th, a total of 13 earthquake reports were received as of 10:17 am on this day, mainly in the eastern region, starting from Tosan-myeon, Seogwipo -si and Sehwa-ri, Gujwa. -eup.

Jeju Island estimated that the probable cause was explosive bomb training conducted during the 2024 joint training of related organizations to respond to terrorism, which is taking place in the Gujwa Gymnasium area in Gujwa-eup, Jeju-si. However, training officials are believed to have explained that the intensity of the explosive bomb was not strong, so it was unlikely to hit areas far from the training point.
It was confirmed that no blasting work had been carried out at the quarry or construction site at the time the report was received.
In addition, training took place at Jeongseok Airport at Korea Air Flight Training Center in Pyoseon-myeon, Seogwipo-si at around 9:40 am, but it was reported that it was not a low-altitude flight, so it was unlikely to have had an impact.
Since no victims were reported due to the reports of tremors, the firefighters put an end to the current situation and everyone returned home.
A provincial official said: “We have conducted a thorough investigation into the cause, but we have not been able to find any clear factor that could be considered the cause other than the explosive bomb training that took place at 10am that day,” and said added, “It has been confirmed that there was no damage.”
