(Reuters) – Former US President Donald Trump on the 25th criticized the peaceful protests that have continued on campuses across the United States over Israel’s military attack on Gaza, calling them “a tremendous act of hatred.”

With the November presidential election on the horizon, Trump has targeted President Biden, who is seeking re-election, as the person responsible for the university protests. He made the comments to reporters after appearing in a court case in a district in the state of New York in a case related to suspicions of having a relationship.

Trump also referred to an incident in 2017, when Trump was in office, when a car plowed into white supremacist protesters in Charlottesville, Virginia, resulting in casualties. He said it was a “small incident” compared to the ongoing protests. .

Trump faced harsh criticism for the incident, saying white supremacists and counter-protesters were “to blame.”
