US airlines cancel more than 2,700 flights to avoid East Coast winter storm

According to FlightAware.com, American Airlines Group has canceled more than 600 flights, with nearly 95% of its flights departing from Charlotte International Airport. Douglas, based in North Carolina, has been canceled.

American Airlines has allowed customers affected by the bad weather this time. Flights can be rebooked again without a fee.

U.S. National Weather Service Office (NWS) said severe winter storms were affecting the eastern United States on Sunday. And is likely to continue to cause damage today. Heavy snow is expected in the Appalachian and Great Lakes regions.
