Valve has announced that it will change how it handles games that use AI technology on Steam, and that most games that use AI will be eligible for release.
The change adds an AI disclosure section to the content survey that developers fill out when submitting games to Steam, requiring developers to explain how AI is used in the development and running of their games.
The company will use the information provided in the information section in the game’s pre-release reviews, and users will be able to see if AI is used in the game on the store page. A new system will also be implemented that allows players to report illegal content generation in games where AI content is generated during execution (live generation).
Please note that it is currently not possible to post live-generated sexual content intended for adults.
