Wataru Endo (30), midfielder of Liverpool’s Japanese representation, started his eighth consecutive match against Newcastle.
Endo, who dominated the midfield with his unique dueling skills, received a yellow card for a foul in the 21st minute of the second half. That brings his total to five this season and he will be suspended from the next game due to cumulative warnings. Liverpool are now top of the table, three points behind second-placed Aston Villa and five points behind Manchester City (*one game left) and Arsenal.
