Weather in Ukraine – due to bad weather, 10 people died, another 23 people were injured, including children

Due to the bad weather that covered Ukraine, 10 people died and another 23 were injured, said the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Igor Klimenko. According to him, among the victims there are children.

“As a result of worsening weather conditions, 10 people died – in Odessa, Kharkov, Nikolaev and Kyiv. 23 people were injured, including two children. There are headquarters for eliminating the consequences of bad weather at the state and regional levels,” Klimenko noted.

He added that today eight roads in the Nikolaev and Kirovograd regions remain blocked for traffic. At the same time, 411 settlements in 11 regions still remain without power.

Klimenko also noted that in the Odessa region alone, units of the State Emergency Service were involved in assistance 254 times. In particular, 849 vehicles were towed there, of which 24 were buses and 17 emergency vehicles. In addition, 2,498 people were helped in the Odessa region, including 162 children. On sections of roads M-05 and M-15, traffic is organized in reverse mode.

In the Nikolaev region, rescuers were called 66 times. 144 cars were towed there. Traffic is still difficult on some sections of the road.

Earlier in the Odessa region, traffic for all types of transport on the M-15 Odessa-Reni highway was completely blocked. Traffic restrictions have also been introduced for heavy vehicles on the M-05 Kyiv – Odessa highway.
