Change in Indian squad for fourth Test against England The fourth Test is at the Oval. The two are tied in a five-match series. India won at Lord’s but England fought back in the Leeds Test. India are plagued by poor form of top batsmen. So there may be a change in the team today. Vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane and pacer Ishant Sharma are expected to miss out. XI to look into India’s chances for fourth Test
KL Rahul
Despite losing both innings of the Leeds Test, Rahul will retain his place in the team. Rahul is one of the highest run scorers in India. He scored 252 runs.
Rohit Sharma
Rohit had moved up to fifth position in the ICC Test rankings yesterday. Rohit had a better performance in England. Rohit is second only to Rahul, who has scored 230 runs in three Tests.
Cheteshwar Pujara
Pujara was one of the players who missed out on a place in the fourth Test. However, Pujara’s 91 in the second innings of the Leeds Test secured his place.
Virat Kohli
Captain Kohli’s form has been a major concern for India. Kohli’s highest score was 55 at Leeds. He has scored 124 runs in five innings so far.
Hanuma Vihari
Vihari may replace vice-captain Rahane in the squad. Rahane, who has played five innings so far, has scored just 95 runs. Vihari made her debut in 2018 at The Oval. He scored 56 runs that day. He has scored 624 runs in 12 Tests so far.
Rishabh ball
The ball is in bad form. He has scored only 87 runs in five innings so far. But the ball has the support of Kohli. Therefore, a change should not be expected.
Ravindra Jadeja
Jadeja could not do much with the ball. The reason is that the pitch does not support the spin. But Jadeja is able to make a decisive contribution with the bat at the tail end. In 2018, Jadeja was to take seven wickets in the Oval Test.
R Ashwin
Since the track supports spin in the lead, it is likely to include two spinners. Ashwin, on the other hand, can excel in batting as well. Ishant will be out with the arrival of Ashwin.
Muhammad Shami
Shami has taken 11 wickets in three Tests. He took four wickets in the last Test.
Jaspreet Bumra
Bumrah is the second highest wicket-taker in the series. He took 14 wickets in three Tests.
Muhammad Siraj
Siraj has taken 13 wickets so far. He is the third highest wicket-taker in the series.
