Sunae Station escalator reverse driving accident… Joint investigation on the 13th

A joint investigation by related agencies will be held on the 13th to determine the cause of the accident on the Suinbundang escalator on the Suinbundang Line, where 14 people were injured yesterday (8th).

The Seoul Regional Railway Special Judicial Police and the National Institute for Scientific Investigation plan to conduct a joint investigation at the accident site at Exit 2 of Sunae Station on the same day.

These organizations intend to focus on identifying the cause of the accident by identifying the escalator facility where the accident occurred and examining the safety inspection process.

The escalator was found to have passed the safety inspection conducted by the Korea Elevator Safety Corporation in September last year, raising questions about whether the safety inspection was properly conducted.
