Former U.S. President Donald Trump is the top Republican candidate for the 2024 presidential nomination, polls show.
The Hill, a political media outlet, reported on the 2nd local time that 47% of Republican supporters and nonpartisans said they would support Trump in the Republican primary in 2024, according to a Harris Poll conducted by the Center for American Political Science at Harvard University.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, a Republican, was in second place with only 10% support, and in third place was former Vice President Mike Pence with 9%.
Former President Trump has a strong desire to run for the presidency, but has yet to officially announce his candidacy.
